During the first half of the show, George Noory welcomed Steve Bassett, UFO disclosure activist and executive director of the Paradigm Research Group, for a discussion on the progress of UFO disclosure. Bassett emphasized that the UFO Disclosure Act is a core component of the broader political "scaffolding" required to end what he calls the government's long-standing truth embargo on ET activity. He outlined how Congress, the media, public testimony, and diminishing stigma have all moved disclosure closer, and argued that the remaining missing piece is the passage of the full Act. In his view, once the Act is passed, the political groundwork will be sufficient for a president to openly confirm the existence of non-human intelligence.
Bassett stressed that scientific validation is crucial, not just political momentum. He highlighted the growing willingness of mainstream scientists to engage with UAP questions, calling this a necessary step toward societal readiness for disclosure. He described scientific progress as a parallel track to legislative efforts, both of which are needed to legitimize the issue and provide a credible framework for a post-disclosure world. According to Bassett, scientific evidence helps eliminate ridicule, reinforce public acceptance, and supply an empirical basis that political leaders require before making a formal announcement.
Bassett highlighted a study by astronomer Beatriz Villarroel, which analyzed thousands of archival astrophotography plates taken before satellites existed. Villarroel's team identified objects that appeared in one image and vanished in later images—far too many instances, Bassett reported, to be asteroids or natural phenomena. Bassett emphasized that the study has undergone peer review and noted its reported 45% correlation between these transient objects and periods of nuclear weapons testing. He suggested this is potential Nobel-level work that independently corroborates a non-human presence and reinforces the scientific foundation for full disclosure.

Open Lines followed in the latter half of the program. George shared a story about sometimes waking up to the sound of a doorbell ringing and explained that it is a phenomenon known as phantom doorbell sound, with no one present. There is a related sleep disorder called exploding head syndrome, in which people report hearing loud noises or sudden crashing sounds, he said. Richie from Oak Hills, West Virginia, shared his experience of hearing someone knocking on his door while he was sleeping. He recalled being awakened by the knocking sound, getting up to check, and finding no one there. Richie mentioned that the knocking sound sometimes feels like an internal clock and happens when he forgets to set his alarm.
Denver from Jackson, Mississippi, phoned in to share his experience of talking to Riley Martin, a previous guest on Coast to Coast, who claimed to have been abducted by aliens multiple times. Denver urged listeners to read Martin's book, "The Coming of Tan," with an open mind as it examines the aliens' role in guardianship of the Earth. Mike in Colorado called in to discuss Apple's new digital ID feature that lets users add their passport information to their Apple Wallet. He commented on the potential benefits and privacy and civil liberties concerns associated with the digital ID feature.
The final half hour featured a replay from 12/5/2016 when writer Elizabeth Greenwood explored how people fake their deaths.
