Dr. Richard Boylan presented his research on UFOs and alien encounters. Based on his examination of over 130 abduction cases, he concluded that "alien abductions may not be a bad thing for most people," and that "59% of the experiencers achieve a positive attitude toward the encounters." He emphasized that ET visits are "friendly or active, at minimum, benign, not threatening," and aimed at helping humanity. Boylan estimated that about 3,000 extraterrestrial contacts a day were going on in the United States alone. He anticipated an "alien landing in the United States Southwest in the springtime of this coming year" (1997), followed by more landings that would gain worldwide publicity and lead to a significant "spiritual change."
He asserted that the Air Force's recent "weather balloon" and "high altitude particle sniffer" explanations for the 1947 Roswell crash were false. He believed "the government has been lying to them about UFOs" as part of a "sophisticated disinformation psychological warfare project." Boylan also commented on the crop circles phenomenon, attributing it to "extreme high technology" and "the artistry and high intelligence of a highly developed civilization," rather than military operations or hoaxers.
In the first segment, Linda Moulton Howe reported on a recent surge of unexplained animal anomalies and disappearances in Colorado and New Mexico, as well as an incident involving a herd of 3,000 caribou in Alaska.
