Pam Reynolds talked about having terrible headaches to the point where she could no longer speak or understand languages, which doctors discovered was a brain aneurysm. When they performed surgery to remove it, her body was cooled to 55 degrees and her heart stopped. While in this state she experienced one of the most amazing NDEs ever. A musician, Reynolds recognized a tone she heard as natural E, and felt like she was being pulled from her own body. She also said there was a beautiful light, and she felt free and serene. Every cell of her body felt as though it was carrying her senses. She could see the doctors in the operating room performing her own surgery. Reynolds then heard her grandmother call her, and saw her along with other deceased relatives, who appeared to be the embodiment of life itself.

Dr. Colm Kelleher from The National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS) said that there had recently been lots of calls from ranchers reporting animal mutilations, including over a dozen from a small triangle northwest of Great Falls, Montana. Kelleher said most of the affected cattle are a few days old, and noted the cuts in the animals he examined were surgically precise and not caused by lightning or predators. The standard MO of which portions of the animals are removed included the hide from the jaw, one of the eyes and ears, and the genitals, which are almost always taken. He also said that one of the men who owned affected cattle was a legislator who wanted no press or media attention about the matter, settling on lightning strikes as the cause (an inadequate explanation).
