David John Oates, a pioneer in "reverse speech," asserted that playing recorded forward speech backward reveals a person's true thoughts and unconscious motivations. He explained that reversals are "always congruent with the subject being discussed." Oates became convinced of its validity through consistency and scientific EEG (brainwave) testing that showed "rapid activity between the left and right brain hemispheres" during reversals.
He suspected governments, including the CIA and British Secret Service, have covertly used reverse speech, citing rumors of cracking a terrorism case and debriefing POWs. Oates believes his house was “burned down as a warning" due to his work, adding that some of his tapes were altered after a recent office break-in. Reverse speech examination of NASA officials revealed phrases like "What's locked up with their starship? This needs to be known,” "We're involved with Cydonia,” and "We're riding a shielded vessel”.
Oates also examined quotes from a recent Roswell press conference by the U.S. Air Force. Statements were reversed, showing admissions like "Share a secret with NASA,” "We faked it,” "It's not true,” and "Sell the babble,” along with deeper metaphorical content such as "Hear the Lucifer here" and "I make you our slave”.
