Skycar Development / Modern Vampirism

In the first half, Dr. Paul Moller discussed the development of the revolutionary SkyCar, a vehicle that promises to combine the capabilities of an aircraft with those of a helicopter. The vehicle is capable of vertical takeoff and landing, as well as road use, and aims to be affordable, with a projected price comparable to that of a high-end car.

Anticipating advances in air traffic safety that have been implemented in recent years, Moller said that coming innovations would allow pilots to "not have to worry about air traffic controllers looking at their screens all of the time." He also highlighted the design's focus on stability and maneuverability, which is achieved through innovative engineering techniques and redundant systems that prevent failures.

In the second half, Nemo Hennessy, representing a group called the Temple of the Vampire, advocated a modern interpretation of vampirism. Nemo, who claimed to be a living vampire, explored his beliefs and practices. He explained that, "We don't drink human blood…We absorb the excess life force…that is given off all the time by people…we regenerate it, and actually utilize it."

Nemo said that the Temple presents a philosophical view emphasizing individual autonomy over mortality. The teachings combine elements of science, spirituality, and personal growth, utilizing concepts such as lucid dreaming and out-of-body experiences as pathways to a deeper understanding of the life force. He suggested that the fear of death is a significant barrier to exploring these ideas. Later in the conversation, Art and the guest discussed advances in life extension such as molecular nanotechnology, with Nemo commenting that "physical immortality is right around the scientific corner."
