UFO Sightings 1999

National UFO Reporting Center Director Peter Davenport shared the most dramatic UFO sightings he was investigating at the time. One such case took place on February 25, 1999, when a group of forestry workers in Washington state saw what at first they thought was a parachute. They were astonished to see an aerial object and quickly called their coworkers to look at it too. Seen by 14 witnesses, the craft drifted toward a herd of elk; the craft then picked up a fully grown adult elk, did a circle, and flew off to the Northeast. The witnesses did not see a beam, and the craft was not much bigger than the elk, Davenport recounted.

He described the witnesses in the elk case as sober-minded, modest, soft-spoken, and not interested in any publicity, and presented audio of some of their interviews. Davenport commented that he's amazed at our government for lying to us about the phenomenon - especially after the amount of defense money spent to defend against these craft. MUFON Washington State Director of Investigations, Robert A. Fairfax, joined part of the conversation.

The first hour offered news of the day, and an appearance from a representative of a portable generator company. The final two hours featured Open Lines.
