Bill Guggenheim

Biography:

Bill Guggenheim and his former wife Judy, conducted seven years of research on After-Death Communication (ADC) for their book, Hello From Heaven! During this time, they interviewed 2,000 people and collected more than 3,300 first-hand accounts of ADC experiences. Bill is on the Board of Advisors of the International Association for Near-Death Studies (IANDS) and is a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC). He presents workshops at conferences for bereavement support groups, hospices, churches, colleges, and many other types of institutions.

World authority on after-death communications (ADCs), Bill Guggenheim joined the program to discuss his thirty-year journey into researching and documenting over three thousand first-hand accounts of communication with the dead. He said that these experiences constitute "modern day evidence for life after death" and that the goal of his research is for ADCs to be regarded as "a natural and normal part of life." Guggenheim defined after-death communications as "a spiritual experience that occurs when someone is contacted directly and spontaneously by a loved one that has died." He noted that the criteria for an ADC is narrow, so as to rule out ghosts and third party participants like mediums. Asked how many people have had these experiences, he said that a conservative estimate is 60 million Americans and that he's spoken to witnesses with ages ranging from eight to ninety-two.
