A woman traveling through Colorado's Hinsdale County with her husband reported seeing a massive, dark, hairy bipedal creature emerge from the woods and walk uphill with a smooth, gliding gait. She estimated it stood between seven and nine feet tall, with long arms and a head that seemed to blend into its shoulders. Her husband did not witness the creature but said her shocked reaction convinced him she had seen something extraordinary, and the couple later discovered an unusual footprint near the spot. The July 28 encounter was reported to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization and remains unexplained.
