Artist Creates Life-Size Sasquatch Sculpture Made of Driftwood

By Tim Binnall

An artist in Canada who specializes in sculptures made of driftwood has produced a monstrous new piece depicting Sasquatch. According to a Canadian media outlet, the massive work of art can be found on British Columbia's Quadra Island and was crafted by a man named Alex Witcombe. Comprised entirely of driftwood, the faux creature stands a whopping eight feet tall and weighs around 500 pounds.

Residents of the island have already taken a liking to the awe-inspiring piece, saying that its proven to be particularly appreciated by local children. That said, they conceded that the statue could be a bit creepy should someone unaware of its presence stumble upon the somewhat menacing at dusk. According to Witcombe, the purpose of the sculpture, aside from celebrating Sasquatch, is to encourage people to visit Quadra Island and explore the nature trails at the location.
