British Man Busted for Stealing Nearly 200,000 Cadbury Creme Eggs

A sweet-toothed thief in Britain will soon be heading to prison after cops busted him for stealing nearly 200,000 Cadbury Creme Eggs. The strange heist reportedly occurred this past Saturday when Joby Pool broke into an industrial unit in the town of Telford and made off with a trailer containing the massive haul of iconic Easter candy. Fortunately the crook never got the chance to sample any of the ill-gotten treats as cops spotted him cruising down a nearby highway in an also-stolen truck. Pool was subsequently stopped and surrendered to officers without incident.

Having some fun with case on Twitter, police declared that they had "helped save Easter" by putting a stop to the "eggs-travagent theft." Suggesting that the $37,000 worth of stolen candy was set to be fenced, they jokingly mused "that's one creme egg dealer off the streets." While the cops had a good laugh about the crook's foiled caper, one imagines that Pool is far less amused about being busted as he could face up to two years in prison for the misadventure after confessing to the crime in court this week.
