Colorado Cops Get Creepy 911 Call

By Tim Binnall

A police department in Colorado recently found themselves at the center of a rather spooky story reminiscent of something one might hear while sitting around the campfire. The creepy incident reportedly occurred last weekend when the emergency dispatcher in the city of Pueblo received a 911 call from an area funeral home at around 3:30 AM. Things soon took an eerie turn when the call disconnected after the dispatcher answered it.

Lest one think that perhaps this was some kind of prank using caller ID trickery to give the officers a scare, what happened next brings the creepy tale to a whole different level. When the dispatcher called the funeral home back, someone or something answered the phone! However, there was only silence in response to the officer's queries as to who had called and why. Sensing that perhaps they should investigate the situation, cops ventured over to the funeral home but found that the building was locked up tight and all the lights were off.

Since the proprietors of the funeral home did not contact the police department the next day about a break-in or anything else amiss, the police department was largely left scratching their heads. Recounting the weird incident on Twitter, officer Tom Rummel said "probably just line trouble, right? Sure, let's go with that!" While that very well may be the case, considering that the call came during the infamous 'witching hour,' one can't help but wonder if it may have been from a temporarily-bewildered spirit who had just 'woken up' inside a funeral home and didn't know why.
