Colorado Motorist Reports Sasquatch Sighting

By Tim Binnall

A Colorado woman cruising along the highway was stunned when she spotted a bipedal creature that she is certain was a Sasquatch. The remarkable sighting, reported to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO), occurred on July 28th as witness Lori Bowling was driving on the scenic Highway 149 near the community of Lake City. While watching for deer or moose that might dash out in front of her car, she gazed over at the side of the road and saw what she believes to have been a Sasquatch emerge from the woods and swiftly move up a hill. "Trust me when I say I am not a Bigfoot believer," Bowling declared, "but after what I saw I sure in the hell am now!"

Insisting that she got a good look at the mysterious figure and "not a glimpse," the witness recalled that the bipedal creature stood approximately 8 feet tall and was covered in "blackish brown" fur. Bowling also noted that "the head was kind of molded into the shoulders" and that its arms were "long and very hairy." When the suspected Sasquatch ascended the hill, she said, it took 5 or 6 "gliding steps" before her car fully passed the astonishing scene that left her so "stumped for words" that she was unable to tell her husband to confirm what she was seeing or stop the vehicle to further investigate the situation.

That said, BFRO staff who subsequently visited the sighting location discovered an interesting and rather sizeable impression (seen here) that bears an uncanny resemblance to a classic Bigfoot print. The following day, another suspected track was found before a storm swept over the area and likely erased any further possible evidence. With that in mind, the organization understandably deemed Bowling's sighting particularly credible. For her part, the still-astonished witness looked back on her experience and mused, "I want to tell everyone, but I think they will think I am nuts. I saw what I saw, and now that’s all I think about. Kind of spooky and exciting all at once."
