Creepy Clown Troubles Scottish Village

By Tim Binnall

Residents of a small Scottish village are on edge thanks to a mischievous individual who has been roaming around the community dressed as a creepy clown. People in the town of Skelmorlie reportedly became aware of the haunting harlequin's presence after he joined a local Facebook group under an assumed name and posted a picture of himself in a Pennywise costume at various recognizable locations throughout the village. The troublemaker is also said to have left red balloons at different spots in the community as something of an unsettling calling card. With a population of just 2,000 people, the creepy clown has become the talk of the town and, as one might imagine, residents are not too thrilled with his antics.

"Whoever this is, they are scaring everybody," declared one angry resident. "he needs to be stopped. Someone needs to have a word with him before the police get involved or he really terrifies someone. He could give someone a heart attack." This frustrated father of two young children went on to lament that he refuses to let his kids play outside at night because of the creepy clown and revealed that "one boy in the street along from us said he saw the clown from his bedroom window just before he went to bed," which left the youngster understandably unable to sleep that night.

Speaking about the mystery surrounding the unnerving prankster, another resident observed that "everyone in the village has seen the video and posts on Facebook of the Skelmorlie Killer Clown and we're all talking about who it is, but nobody's got a clue." Police in the community say that they are aware of the situation, though what they might do about the mischief-maker is anyone's guess. Remarkably, this is actually Skelmorlie's second 'haunting' by way of the clown as the same individual reportedly pulled off a similar stunt two years ago around Halloween and promptly vanished at the conclusion of the spooky season, which is what one imagines residents hope will happen again this year.
