Passengers flying into London's Heathrow Airport had a terrifying experience moments before their plane landed as a massive lightning bolt struck the craft.
The incident was actually one of three such occurrences to take place during the raging storm near the airport.
Fortunately, the lightning strike did not damage the plane, which was able to safely land with no one on board being injured from the event.
Though the footage may validate the fears of someone scared of flying, such incidents are actually relatively common and airliners have been specially designed to withstand lightning strikes.
Something tells us that such assurances did little to assuage the concerns of people waiting to depart from the airport and watching the unsettling scene unfold before their eyes.
