A man on an early morning drive in Connecticut says that he got an up-close look at a Sasquatch that crossed the road in front of his car. The remarkable sighting, reported to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, occurred shortly before 2 AM on July 5th as witness Kevin Klimas was returning home from a friend's cabin in the community of Voluntown near the Pachaug State Forest. Slowly driving down a dark road in "the middle of the woods," he was suddenly forced to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting "this thing" that emerged from the forest.
With the vehicle stopped, Klimas clearly observed a bipedal creature standing approximately 8 feet tall "swiftly crossing the road." The monstrous figure, he said, sported "coarse, matted, and greasy-looking long brown hair covering every part of its body I could see." Similar to other suspected Sasquatch reports, Klimas noted that the creature had a slightly conical head and inordinately long arms that reached to just above its knees.
The mystified motorist marveled that the sizeable figure crossed the road in a mere three steps "moving like on a mission" and vanished into the woods without acknowledging the car that had stopped to avoid hitting it. "I was (and remain) dumbstruck," Klimas mused, indicating that it took him around a minute "to regain control of my faculties and get my car moving again." Looking back on the sighting, the man was doubtless about what he had seen. "Make no mistake. This was not a bear," he declared, "this was a cryptid. I'm no longer a skeptic. I'm certain of that."
