A peculiar pair of photos from Illinois show what seems to be an eerie shadow figure lurking beside a graveyard ghost tour. According to a local media report, the spooky pictures were taken earlier this month at the Archer Woods Cemetery in the community of Hickory Hills. Visiting the location that evening was a unique spirit-seeking tour wherein the group Graveside Paranormal buses people to various haunted spots around the state and then they conduct paranormal investigations at each stop. As the aspiring ghost hunters were standing near the gate of the cemetery, one participant snapped a few photos of the gathering and, when guide Neal Gibbons later saw them, he noticed something rather chilling.
In one of the images, which can be seen above, there appears to be the lower part of a shadow figure standing just off to the side of the group. "It looks like half a person," Gibbons observed. The second image (seen below) features the same unnerving interloper standing alongside the group at the cemetery gate. Marveling that "the figure looks translucent," the tour guide and paranormal investigator noted that "you can see the bars" of the fence in front of the suspected apparition.
Given the graveyard setting where the photos were taken, it should come as no surprise that the site is believed to be home to a spirit known as the 'Weeping Lady of Archer Woods Cemetery.' Remarkably, Gibbons explained visitors to the site have reported hearing the ghost crying "as they exit the gates" or encountering a mysterious mist at the spot where the pictures were taken. The unnerving images are actually the third instance in which someone on the tour has snapped a possible shadow person at that particular location as similar photos were captured during events over the previous two years.
