An eight-year-old girl has been credited with the seventh in-person Nessie sighting of the year after she spotted a peculiar anomaly that appeared on the water. The 'monstrous' moment reportedly occurred on July 5th as Abigail Ross and her family were visiting the iconic Scottish site from their home in Edinburgh. While looking out at the water, the youngster noticed "a small dark object" that appeared to be around six feet long and three feet high. Fortunately, the family managed to snap a photo of the peculiar anomaly (seen below) before it vanished back into Loch Ness.
While uncertain about what they saw, the girl's family indicated that "if it was a boat it would have been a very small rowing boat, and it moved more like a speedboat or jet ski in the water." Their account and image of the anomaly was subsequently shared with the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register, which recognized the report as the 7th possible on-site 'monster' observation of the year. Remarkably, the tally for 2026 has now surpassed the total number of sightings logged in 2025.
