In a bizarre road rage incident out of Florida, a driver waiting for a chicken to cross the road allegedly sprayed another driver with bear mace after they barreled over the bird. The surreal scene reportedly occurred on July 9th when Cynthia Sosa pulled up to an intersection in Key West and spotted the creature on its own journey. Giving way to her proverbial fellow traveler, she stopped her car to allow the chicken to cross the road. However, Sosa's act of kindness soon went wildly awry when an impatient motorist behind her blasted their horn before going around her and, in the process, plowed into the unfortunate animal that was killed on contact.
Aghast at what had just happened, Sosa tailed the other driver until they stopped again further down the road. At that point, authorities say, the outraged animal lover exited her vehicle and approached the chicken killer's car. When her attempt at opening the other driver's door proved futile, police allege, Sosa "pulled out her bear mace and sprayed it into the vehicle," where it found its way "directly in the face" of the undoubtedly stunned and now-suffering motorist. Satisfied that she had avenged the chicken's death, the animal's brief companion got back into her car and went on her way. Cops caught up with Sosa shortly thereafter, and she was hit with multiple charges for the misguided act of revenge.
