'Fortune Teller' Wanted by Police in Pennsylvania

By Tim Binnall

Police in Pennsylvania are on the hunt for a self-proclaimed psychic who allegedly swindled over $10,000 out of an unfortunate client. According a local media report, authorities in the community of North Huntingdon issued an arrest warrant for Alexis Candy Mitchell this week in response to a report from a concerned citizen who claims that, back in September, he was bilked out of the sizeable sum of money after seeking out 'spiritual guidance' from the woman. A subsequent investigation led them to identify the purported clairvoyant, who was going by the moniker "Psychic Novena" at the time, and charge her with deception as well as fortune telling, which is apparently illegal in the community.

In what may not be much of a surprise, the case is not the first time that Mitchell has run afoul of the law as she was busted for a similar scheme in the same Pennsylvania county back in 2019. While that matter has been winding its way through the courts since she was initially charged with deception, identity theft, and, yes, fortune telling, "Psychic Novena" now faces these additional charges for the September 2022 scheme. As of now, Mitchell has managed to evade police, who are uncertain where she might be located as she has no known address in the state and very well may have left town if she is aware of the new charges against her.
