Should aliens ever invade the planet, Germany may turn out to be one of the first places that they conquer as the country's government recently revealed that they have no response plan in place in the event that ETs make contact. According to a German newspaper report, the strange admission was made after a politician named Dieter Janecek asked the country's economic ministry how the government would respond to such a scenario. He was subsequently informed that there are "no plans or protocol" on the books for how to respond to ETs.
The reason given for this lack of preparedness is that the German government considers the possibility of hearing from aliens to be "extremely unlikely according to current scientific knowledge." The ministry's response also indicated that there has apparently been no discussion with other nations about the potential for ET contact. "Concrete cases that could have been the subject of bilateral or multilateral talks with other states are not known," said the statement. Of course, conspiracy theorists will argue that the German government's response is not altogether surprising and indicative of a global effort by the 'powers that be' to keep the ET reality a secret.
Whether that is the case of not, the statement is remarkably similar to one made by the Japanese government earlier this year when they were asked about ET contact. As was the case with Germany, officials in Japan stated "we have not made any particular consideration of how to respond" and stressed that the existence of UFOs has not been confirmed. With that in mind, we hope that the conspiracy theorists are correct in their assessment because, otherwise, it appears that our planet would be dangerously unprepared should ETs eventually arrive on Earth, especially if they have sinister intentions.
