A clothing factory in Bangladesh was forced to shut down over the weekend following a weird series of incidents wherein multiple workers mysteriously fainted due to what some say is a ghostly presence in the building. According to a local media report, the odd case began on Saturday afternoon at the Universal Menswear Limited facility in the city of Narayanganj when over 100 employees inexplicably became delirious and required medical treatment. Word soon spread among the remaining workers that the strange wave of sickness had a paranormal explanation: ghost sightings.
The chatter only seemed to exacerbate the situation as even more employees came down with the curious condition the following day. Understandably concerned, the factory ceased operations on Sunday so that the matter could be investigated. Speaking to the spooky rumors swirling around the site, factory general manager Billal Hossain mused, "many workers are saying they have seen ghosts. We cannot stop them from saying that, but how can we, as aware people, believe in ghosts?"
That said, the boss conceded that they have yet to find an explanation for what unfolded over the weekend, expressing bewilderment that the fainting spells unfolded throughout the building rather than one specific spot. Echoing his paranormal skepticism, a local official for the agency that oversees factories in the country told the press, "while workers mention ghosts, we are working to determine the actual cause," which some have suggested could be poor ventilation or simply a case of mass hysteria.
