An elementary school class in Zimbabwe was overcome with fright when both the teacher and the students spotted a ghostly figure in the room. According to a local media report, the very weird incident occurred on Monday morning at the Mberi Primary School in the community of Zengeza. At some point after the lessons for the day had gotten underway, things took an unsettling turn when one class of fourth graders was 'joined' by what was later described as "a shadow-like image, in the form of a woman" who suddenly appeared sitting at a table.
What made the sighting particularly strange was that it was not only observed by the students but also their teacher, who was equally astonished by the eerie interloper. It would seem that the class did not spend all that much time trying to come to grips with what they were seeing as the teacher and the children all stampeded out of the room with such haste that one youngster wound up being injured in the chaos. Strangely, when other staff and students attempted to catch a glimpse of the ghostly figure that had caused all the commotion, it was nowhere to be seen.
While local officials have pledged to investigate the spooky incident, some observers have already offered a rather odd theory for what may have been behind the unnerving event. Speaking to reporters while picking up their kids following the curious kerfuffle, one parent expressed dismay that there was "something frightening our children at the school. They went on to declare that "we strongly suspect that one of the staff members dabbles in satanism," suggesting that the ghost sighting may wind up sparking a proverbial witch hunt.
