Hysteria Attributed to Ouija Board Session Sweeps Through School in Ecuador

A school in Ecuador was swept up in what appears to have been a case of mass hysteria attributed to some students playing with a Ouija Board. According to a local media report, the eerie incident occurred last month in the city of Coca. The otherwise routine school day suddenly took an unsettling turn when a dozen students at the unnamed school began falling to the ground, screaming and convulsing. Classes immediately ceased for the day as word spread that the troubled children had been using a Ouija Board shortly before the worrisome episode.

Remarkably, the panic soon spread beyond the building as parents picking up their children also reported being impacted by the proverbial dark cloud that had fallen over the school. "One of the girls said, 'You all-to-do, you're going to die,'" recalled one mother, "that left us with great fear. I saw things I can't explain." That chilling testimony was echoed by another parent who claimed that she merely glanced at one of the seemingly possessed students and "felt her body weaken, as if she was suddenly losing strength."

Fortunately, normalcy returned to the school in the days that followed, leaving parents and administrators bewildered by the whole weird affair. That said, speaking to the strangeness that swept over the students, a local pastor mused that "this type of practice, such as the Ouija, can open doors to situations that affect people, especially young people." To that end, he offered the age-old advice that parents should pay more attention to their children, lest they wind up summoning something sinister during what they thought was simply a game.
