An Illinois man was left scratching his head when he spotted a UFO hovering over a forest and seemingly causing frightened animals to flee the area. The curious case, detailed to the National UFO Reporting Center, occurred earlier this month as the bewildered witness was en route to pick up his daughter from work. Along the way, he "noticed a large number of deer and raccoons on the road running away" from a nearby forested area. To the driver's astonishment, as he continued along the road, he gazed over to see what could have caused the commotion and observed "a golden orb approximately 500 feet above the woods moving in a rapid almost yoyo-like circular motion."
Needing to get his daughter, the witness continued on his journey and, upon passing through the same area again on the way home, noted that the UFO was gone and "the animals were returning to the woods." Looking back on the "utterly bizarre" sighting, the man noted that the object did not cast any illumination downward and stayed silently in one position in the sky while moving "in a circular loitering position like a holding pattern."
