A bevy of perspectives on Bigfoot, the mysteries of ancient Egypt, and UFO documentaries were among the fascinating topics explored this past week on Coast to Coast AM. Meanwhile, at the C2C website, we told you about the infamous Annabelle doll moving to Salem, a possible goblin video from Colombia, and a troublemaker in a pink panther costume being sought by police in Virginia. Check out our round-up of highlights from the past week ... In Coast You Missed It.
Ancient Egypt was in the spotlight on Tuesday night's program as author Andrew Collins discussed the iconic structures found on the Giza Plateau and possible secrets they may still hold. He noted that recent satellite data from the location suggests the presence of a complex underground world that may have been a natural cave system later developed and expanded by people living in the region. On the subject of the Sphinx, he argued that the monument predates Egypt's dynastic period and may have served as a symbolic guard to the aforementioned subterranean realm. During his appearance, Collins also talked about the remarkable longevity of the Great Pyramid and shared his thoughts on Atlantis.
This past week featured two rather curious videos from Colombia that caught our attention. First, a family gathering in the city of Antioquia came to a sudden stop when they spotted a strange UFO hovering in the sky outside the restaurant where they were eating. The peculiar metallic-looking object appeared to be spherical or saucer-shaped and elicited an exhortation to heaven from one of the awestruck witnesses who thought it was "divinely guided." Later in the week, the disappearance of a little girl in the city of Cali took a wondrous turn when, after she was found safe and sound, strange footage emerged of a small figure that some thought was a folkloric goblin-like entity, seemingly moving through a field with the lost youngster.
UFO documentaries were a hot topic of conversation this past week on Coast to Coast AM with two different filmmakers detailing their recent work. First, on Sunday night's program, Michael Lazovsky talked about his new film Sleeping Dog, which explores the remarkable journey of journalist Jeremy Corbell, who joined the conversation during the show. The pair reflected on the challenges that arise from reporting on UFOs and running afoul of intelligence agencies. Then, on Wednesday night's program, filmmaker Dean Alioto discussed his latest documentary, "The Experiences: Full Disclosure," which explores alien abductions and encounters with otherworldly beings.
A pair of stories centered around haunted objects and attractions made headlines this past week, beginning with news that the infamous Annabelle doll will soon be moving to Salem, Massachusetts. Now under the care of YouTuber Elton Castee and comedian Matt Rife, the purportedly possessed Raggedy Ann will serve as the centerpiece of a new museum showcasing the collection of legendary demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren. Meanwhile, the notoriously haunted Pennhurst State Hospital in Pennsylvania received something of a reprieve from being transformed into an AI data center after local officials rejected the proposal put forward by the property owners, who promised to fight the decision in court.
Bigfoot took center stage on Monday night's program with a special showcase featuring four separate guests discussing the legendary creature. Yale-trained ecologist Robert Pyle talked about his scientific approach to studying Sasquatch, arguing that the elusive cryptid is a biological entity rather than a paranormal phenomenon. Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization founder Matt Moneymaker detailed his group's research efforts and collection of sighting reports. Cliff Barackman from Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot" followed, sharing insights from his extensive field investigations searching for Sasquatch. Finally, researcher Daniel Perez delved into the possibility that the creature could be a hybrid species and addressed the arguments put forward by skeptics.
Easily the strangest story of the week came from Virginia, where police were on the lookout for a mysterious individual seen roaming around a city wearing a pink panther costume. Becoming something of a viral sensation after a local realtor filmed the colorful character and shared the footage on social media, the odd stranger quickly went from weird to worrisome when authorities issued a bulletin warning that they had received reports about the miscreant menacing children. Fortunately, since putting a scare into the community, the ne'er-do-well has seemingly stopped with his shenanigans, which was probably a wise move now that the hard-to-miss pink panther is on the radar of cops and angry residents alike.
