In Coast You Missed It 8/17/18

This past week Coast to Coast AM explored the history of serial killers, learned about a man who predicts crop circles, and found out the latest on a lawsuit in Canada aimed at proving the existence of Sasquatch. And here at the C2C website, we told you about two very strange sightings made by motorists, a UFO in North Carolina that wound up being debunked after going viral, and a truly creepy 911 call received by a police department in Colorado. Check out these highlights from the past week ... In Coast You Missed It.

The iconic crop circle phenomenon was examined from a remarkable new angle on Saturday night's edition of Coast to Coast AM as filmmaker William Gazecki talked about his work documenting a Dutch medium who can somehow predict when the formations will form. Purportedly the only person in the world with this unique ability, Gazecki theorized that the psychic has some kind of connection with the supernatural forces responsible for the formations as he has been able to foresee a whopping 100 crop circles which have subsequently come to fruition.

One of the weirder sagas of this past week was that of a viral video of a UFO hovering over a lake in North Carolina. For some strange reason, the months-old footage captured people's imagination early in the week and spread like wildfire online. However, as we suspected in our initial report, the 'UFO' was quickly deflated once Goodyear heard about the story and realized that, yes, the 'flying saucer' was actually one of their trademark blimps that had been in the area for a racing event.

Within the realm of true crime, there are few topics more fascinating and frightening than serial killers. The history and evolution of these nightmarish individuals was detailed by investigative historian Peter Vronsky on Monday night's program. Along with sharing stories of some truly twisted murderers who have been captured over the years, he also recounted a stunning turn of events which saw Vronsky literally walk into a serial killer as he was fleeing a New York City hotel after beheading one of his unfortunate victims.

A pair of intriguing paranormal sightings, which were eerily similar while also being vastly different, made news this past week. First, a driver in Ohio allegedly witnessed a seven-to-eight-foot tall alien crossing a road! The potential extraterrestrial was described as sporting spindly limbs and a bulbous head like the classic depiction of a grey alien. Meanwhile, in Whitehall, New York, a motorist reported seeing a Sasquatch crossing a highway. The incident was just the latest in a long line of Bigfoot encounters in the village which has actually adopted the creature as their official animal.

Speaking of Sasquatch, a tantalizing legal showdown which we're closely watching was covered on Wednesday night's program when Bigfoot researcher Todd Standing provided an update on his lawsuit against the Canadian government. The suit, which seeks to legally confirm the existence of Sasquatch and establish some kind of protective status for the creature, is currently in the hands of a judge in British Columbia. At some point in the near future, he'll decide if the case will move forward, as Standing hopes, or be dismissed, as was requested by the Canadian government.

By far the creepiest story we covered this week at the Coast website centered around a hair-raising 911 call received by a police department in Colorado. The spooky story began when the emergency dispatcher in the city of Pueblo got a hang up call from a funeral home at 3:30 AM. When they dialed the number back to inquire what was wrong, someone or something picked up the phone, but offered only silence in response to their questions. When police were dispatched to the scene to see if something was amiss, they were surprised to find that the funeral home was locked up tight, leaving one to wonder who or what made that call and why.
