Indian Farmer Says Wedding DJ's Loud Music Killed 140 of His Chickens

A poultry farmer in India says that he lost a staggering 140 chickens when a wedding procession with particularly loud music passed by his property. According to a local media report, the bizarre bird massacre occurred last Saturday night in an Uttar Pradesh village. As he settled in for the evening, Sabir Ali later lamented, the peacefulness of the moment was suddenly pierced by a traditional wedding procession, complete with a DJ blasting music, that made its way through the community.

If the farmer had any festive feelings from the traveling party as it passed his property, they were undoubtedly fleeting as, to his horror, Ali discovered that the cacophony had seemingly laid waste to his prized poultry. "The noise was so intense," he wrote in a police complaint about the incident, "that the chickens got frightened and died." Authorities have since launched an investigation into the matter to determine if the music from the procession was truly to blame for the dozens of dead birds.
