A fortune teller in Japan has been accused of fleecing a woman out of more than $450,000 in cryptocurrency. According to a local media report, authorities arrested purported mystic Daisuke Ise on Wednesday for computer fraud. Police say that the victim had enlisted the fortune teller for help in remembering the password to her crypto wallet. While the woman is described as an acquaintance rather than a client, her account sounds like the latter scenario may have been the case, as police say Ise "was able to piece together her access information based on hints he extracted from her during their conversations." Amazingly, the missing money went unnoticed for two years until the woman presumably remembered how to log in to her wallet again this past February. Upon seeing her balance at zero, the stunned woman reported the vanished cryptocurrency to the police. During their investigation, cops questioned Ise, who simply asserted that "I don't have the knowledge to do any hacking." Be that as it may, the fortune teller could have a lengthy jail sentence in his future for what seems to be a rather open-and-shut case that should serve as something of a cautionary tale to those who patronize psychics and share a bit too much personal information.
