Korean Fortune-Telling TV Show Slammed for Trying to Book Mourning Guest

A Korean fortune-telling television show is under fire after it thoughtlessly attempted to book the sister of a woman who perished in a recent sinkhole accident. According to a local media report, the incredibly misguided entreaty was made by a staff member of the program 'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller.' In trying to recruit a compelling guest for the show, which features a pair of mystics providing spiritual guidance to people in need, they reached out to the sister of Park Mo, who tragically died when she was swallowed by a sinkhole in Seoul back in March.

"We would like to cautiously ask," the message read, "if you would be open to discussing the contents you posted on your social media account as a bereaved family member regarding the sinkhole accident" that had made headlines in the country a few weeks earlier. As one might imagine, the response from the woman's grieving sister was rather blistering. "Is this funny? Are you mocking me? Is this event a source of entertainment," she angrily wrote back to the show, "is this acceptable by common sense?"

Lamenting that the headline-making accident had already caused her to endure a considerable amount of unwanted attention already, the woman called the request "excessive." Mo subsequently shared the message exchange on her social media account, which led to an understandable online outcry against the program. Responding to the public rebuke, 'Ask Us Anything Fortune Teller' issued a statement wherein they called the message "an unwise decision" and promised to "bolster the recruitment process in the future."
