A remarkable photo from Argentina may offer a glimpse of the country's legendary lake monster, Nahuelito. According to a local media report, the intriguing image (seen below) was snapped on Sunday afternoon by a witness standing on the shore of Lake Nahuel Huapi. Much like Loch Ness, the sizeable body of water has long been said to be home to a mysterious 'monster' and, as with Scotland's iconic cryptid, a handful of witnesses make headlines every few years with possible sightings of the creature.
While not much is known about the latest instance beyond when it occurred, the photo from the incident is rather compelling as it shows a large dark object that surfaced on the water long enough for the unnamed observer to snap a picture of the puzzling anomaly. When consulted about the curious image, filmmaker Miguel Ángel Rossi, who directed a documentary on Nahuelito, told an Argentine media outlet that "it's not clear what's happening there. What I can contribute is that in that place, every so often, similar situations appear."
To that end, he noted that his movie features a case in which a witness may have seen the 'monster' at the location on Lake Nahuel Huapi where the anomaly was photographed on Sunday. Additionally, Rossi revealed that he received "a series of photos where something dark emerges in that same place." Unfortunately, the individual who shared the material requested that the filmmaker not publish the pictures at this time. All told, the director indicated that he personally knows of four possible Nahuelito sightings that were strikingly similar to Sunday's event.
