The Loch Ness Monster is being celebrated with a new interactive statue that aims to convey various perspectives on the legendary cryptid. The sizeable piece was reportedly unveiled Wednesday on the grounds of the Loch Ness Centre tourist attraction, which commissioned the artwork from local metalworks company Inverfab. Crafted out of steel "using precision engineering and artistic flair," the lengthy statue consists of four parts: a tail, two humps, and a head that measures nearly eight feet tall.
Beyond being a monument to the iconic 'monster,' the artwork also features an interactive element as visitors to the Loch Ness Centre will be encouraged to weigh in on the nature of the creature by affixing a colored ribbon to the piece. With the options being yellow for the proverbial true believers, blue for those on the fence, and orange for the skeptics, the attraction envisions the artwork eventually becoming "a living display of the diverse theories and imaginations that surround" the iconic cryptid that has drawn countless people to the popular Scottish site.
