A recent photo snapped by NASA's Mars Curiosity Rover shows what appears to be a classic flying saucer in the sky over the Red Planet. The intriguing image was reportedly taken on February 22nd from the Gale Crater. Eagle-eyed anomaly hunters scouring NASA photos for strange details quickly pounced upon the photo when they noticed the remarkably symmetrical dark object seemingly cruising through the sky above the Martian horizon.
As one might imagine, some have suggested that the Rover accidentally captured proof of either a Martian civilization or a clandestine craft sent to the Red Planet from Earth as part of a secret space program. That said, more skeptical observers argue that the 'flying saucer' was merely a technical glitch that produced the appearance of something otherworldly, thanks in part to the phenomenon of pareidolia.
