Minnesota Hunters Report Bigfoot Sighting

By Tim Binnall

A mother and son hunting in Minnesota could not believe their eyes when they spotted a sizeable bipedal creature that may have been Bigfoot. The possible Sasquatch sighting reportedly occurred in early October as Suzy and Jeff Stanley were driving along a trail in search of birds to bag at the state's Mud Goose Wildlife Management Area. The grouse-hunting effort required them to cruise along at a rather slow pace, which proved to be fortuitous as it allowed for Suzy to notice something unusual along an adjoining trail. Yelling "what the hell was that," she convinced Jeff to put their vehicle in reverse to get a better look at the oddity and the pair were astonished at what they saw.

Later recounting the experience to the Bigfoot Field Research Organization, Jeff indicated that they observed the upper half of a "giant, black, creature walking into the timber on two feet." The figure, he recalled, sported "a rounded head sitting low on the shoulders" and long arms that appeared to swing as it moved. Marveling at the musculature of the mysterious creature, Jeff likened its physique to that of wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Having lost sight of the odd interloper when it ventured into the brush, the pair bravely drove to where it had been on the side road so that they could further investigate the situation and were struck by "a pungent smell which they described as rotting compost mixed with musty rags."

This would seemingly strengthen the case that the creature could have been Sasquatch as the creature is somewhat notorious for emitting a powerful and unpleasant odor. While they did not see any prints left behind by the suspected Bigfoot, the mother and son did note disturbances in the dirt that could have been created by its toes. Intriguingly, when Jeff subsequently shared their story with a game warden whom they encountered later that day, rather than dismiss their account as fanciful, he replied cryptically "that is where people report seeing those."
