A self-proclaimed psychic in South Africa may need to look for a new line of work after she told the family of a missing man that he had been murdered, only for him to return home several months later. According to a local media report, the odd case began back in April when the unnamed Durban resident disappeared, leaving his loved ones understandably concerned about his whereabouts. Desperate for answers, the man's family turned to a pair of purported psychics for some supernatural insights and received a rather troubling response.
Following a ritual involving "crystals and flames," the mystic regretfully informed his mother and step-father that he had been killed by individuals to whom he owed money. Taking the psychic at her word, the family subsequently set about searching for his remains by visiting various mortuaries and other places where his body might be found. However, their months of mourning turned into astonished relief last week when he unexpectedly returned home no worse for wear.
While the family was understandably overjoyed to be reunited with their lost loved one after having spent months believing he was dead, the circumstances surrounding his strange disappearance remain a mystery. It remains to be seen whether or not the mystic will refund the money she received for the wildly inaccurate insight that left the man's loved ones shattered. That said, one doesn't have to be psychic to predict that such a costly mea culpa is rather unlikely.
