Mysterious Chunk of Ice Rips Hole Through Roof of Florida Home

By Tim Binnall

A homeowner in Florida got quite the scare last week when a sizeable chunk of ice mysteriously fell from the sky and ripped a hole through the roof of their residence. According to a Facebook post from the Martin County Sheriff's Office, the strange event occurred on Wednesday morning in the community of Palm City. Sharing pictures of the aftermath of the odd event, they noted that the unnamed resident wound up being fairly lucky as the ice struck their roof at a spot where it hangs over the yard and, therefore, it never burst into the actual home.

Be that as it may, the roof will undoubtedly need to be repaired as the hole left behind by the falling ice looks to be at least a foot in diameter. As for where the falling object may have come from, cops say there is "no clear explanation" for its origins at this time, though it presumably originated from an airliner, since the chunk seems far too big to have been hail. Fortunately, for those wondering, Since the ice was white rather than blue, it likely did not come from a passenger jet inadvertently emptying their restroom reserves.
