Mysterious Fires Plague Family in India

By Tim Binnall

Multiple members of a family in India have been forced to flee their homes following a series of mysterious fires that have left authorities baffled. According to a local media report, the curious case currently unfolding in the community of Antari began a few days ago when some clothes and bedding inexplicably burst into flames at Kalyan Singh Baghel's residence. The bewildering blaze became even stranger when, shortly thereafter, similar fiery incidents occurred in each of his four brothers' homes. Since that time, the fires have repeatedly occurred in their respective residences, leaving the family and their community understandably unnerved.

The recurring blazes are particularly puzzling as they happen spontaneously and nowhere near outlets or cooking stoves, which might account for the odd infernos. Additionally, when the brothers gave their neighbors important items from their homes to protect them from being burned, those objects also later burst into flames. As word of the weird situation spread throughout the village, residents began speculating that the family's fiery problem was the result of some kind of curse. However, when various mystics were enlisted to get to the bottom of the matter, their rituals proved to be no match for the fires that continue to randomly erupt.

Looking to quell community concerns, local officials have deployed a water tanker to the area and instructed the village fire department to be on alert for any further incidents. Authorities have also dismissed supernatural theories for the peculiar case, but concede that they cannot explain it themselves. As such, a team of forensic scientists will soon be dispatched to the brothers' homes for a full investigation that will hopefully solve the mystery. Meanwhile, the five brothers have abandoned their respective houses and now sleep outside, with the unorthodox arrangement being preferable to sleepless nights, fearing when the next fire might erupt.
