Nepalese City Besieged by Marauding Monkeys

A Nepalese community is on edge following a spate of monkey attacks that has resulted in a staggering 40 residents needing medical attention. According to a local media report, the strange siege began about six weeks ago, when assertive simians started roaming the city of Nepalgunj in packs, looking for food and causing trouble. One resident who fell victim to the monkeys, Pravez Khan, recalled how several of the animals swarmed his home and attacked multiple members of his family when he tried to force them out of the residence.

Since the start of the spree, at least 40 people have visited Nepalgunj's Bheri Hospital for medical attention after being bitten by the marauding monkeys. Staff at the facility have understandably expressed concern over the worrisome increase in attacks by the aggressive animals as new patients continue to arrive at the site seeking treatment after being bitten by the simians. Meanwhile, Nepalgunj residents are afraid to leave their homes, lest they run into one of the monkey gangs and become their next victim. Aware of the issue, the city's mayor assured the public that the government is working on a solution to the simian situation gripping the community.
