A Polish man is looking at considerable time behind bars following a staggering spree of phony meal delivery orders that often had a rather sinister spin to them. A slew of restaurants in multiple major cities throughout the country, as well as the unwitting recipients of the unwanted meals, reportedly fell victim to the unnamed ne'er-do-well. According to police, the man is believed to have placed hundreds of the fake meal orders, including a jaw-dropping 300 pizzas and, in one instance, a whopping $10,000 worth of food.
Lest one think his actions were merely a misguided prank, authorities say that the incidents frequently took on a decidedly creepy tone. On some occasions, the man would place orders containing deeply personal details about the recipients that left his bewildered targets understandably unsettled. Other times, the suspect would include criminal threats, like causing a car crash or committing arson. Taken into custody earlier this summer, the man faces a litany of charges, including stalking and identity theft, that could ultimately result in an eight-year prison sentence.
