On the 46th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, a stunning set of Breakthrough Initiatives were announced by Russian entrepreneur Yuri Milner and scientist Stephen Hawking. Milner's foundation will provide $100 million over the next decade for an enhanced search for signs of intelligent life among 1 million stars in the Milky Way and beyond.
