Slew of Stuffed Animals Spill Onto Highway in Oregon

Transportation officials in Oregon found themselves with an adorable mystery on their hands when hundreds of stuffed animals inexplicably wound up strewn along the side of a highway. According to a local media report, the weird incident occurred shortly after the height of the morning commute last Wednesday on Interstate 5 in the city of Portland. It would seem that among the motorists headed to work that day was a delivery driver who undoubtedly had some explaining to do when they reached their destination as a slew of dolls depicting various iconic cartoon characters had somehow spilled out onto the road.

Detailing the odd obstruction on social media, the Oregon Department of Transportation suggested that the stuffed animals could have been en route to a popular local pizza restaurant, but conceded that "we're not exactly sure how they got there." Be that as it may, someone had to clean up the colorful mess and workers were tasked with rounding up the cartoon creatures, which were so voluminous that one lane of the highway actually had to be closed for the peculiar detail. The department went on to indicate that the dolls were ultimately taken to "our north Portland maintenance yard for care, cuddles and feeding" while they wait to see if anyone will come forward to claim the toys.
