Stingray Sports Bizarre Bite Marks

By Tim Binnall

A group of fishermen in Australia were astounded when they stumbled upon a stingray suffering from a pair of ferocious-looking bite marks. The weird find reportedly occurred earlier this week at a location known as Corio Bay. Following their first cast of the day, the party's fishing excursion took an odd turn when they spotted the injured creature in some shallow water.

The unfortunate stingray was said to be barely alive due to the two nearly identical chunks which had been taken out of its wings. As one can imagine, there was little that could be done about the creature's injuries and it died shortly after being pulled from the water. One amazed eyewitness managed to snap a few photos of the odd-looking stingray which caused a small sensation online as observers marveled at the sight and wondered what could have caused it.

To that end, the prime suspect in the case is a bull shark, given the shape and size of the wounds. However, not everyone is convinced of that theory as some have suggested that the stingray's wings were cut by a person. Their reasoning for that conclusion is that the 'bite marks' look almost too perfect to have been a natural occurrence. However, one person who saw the stingray being discovered said that is unlikely because the fishermen were fairly far away from where the creature had been found.
