Thai Fortune Teller Falls Victim to Creepy Amulet Scheme

By Tim Binnall

In a weird story out of Thailand, a fortune teller turned to the police for help after she purchased dozens of allegedly magical amulets said to have been made of human remains from a medium and then received complaints from her customers, who failed to experience their 'special powers.' The curious case of mystic-on-mystic crime reportedly came to light this week when the victim, a soothsayer identified as Min, shared her strange story with authorities. According to the fortune teller, she bought 30 of the charms from the psychic with the promise that the creepy pieces could bestow good luck upon their owner. However, after Min sold the amulets to her customers for what was a presumably marked-up price, something of a curse befell her business.

The fortune teller lamented that several clients demanded refunds when they saw no discernible improvement in their lives due to the amulets. To her credit, Min reimbursed the displeased customers to the tune of a staggering $90,000, leaving her financially devastated. Although the medium who sold her the amulets assured the fortune teller that she would cover half the loss, the psychic promptly ghosted her when it came time to pay her share. Min subsequently reported the situation to the police, hoping to recoup the money she lost in the misguided scheme, which she claims to have only now realized may have been illegal, since trafficking in human remains is prohibited in Thailand.
