Video: Tourist Snaps Tantalizing Photo of Mysterious 'Green Mass' at Loch Ness

By Tim Binnall

A tourist aboard a cruise boat at Loch Ness snapped a tantalizing photo of a mysterious shape beneath the water of the iconic Scottish site. The intriguing image (featured above and isolated here) was reportedly taken on the morning of June 23rd by Sharon Herbert, who was visiting the location from her home in Kent, England. As her boat passed the famed Urquhart Castle, she noticed something unusual in the water and quickly photographed the weird anomaly.

Interestingly, the tour boat company subsequently indicated that "their skipper says there is no explanation that they can offer as to what the green mass is." The remarkable image has been recognized by the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register as the 6th possible on-site Nessie encounter for 2026, matching the total number of accepted reports for last year.
