Now that leprechauns have had their day, other ominous little creatures like gnomes, pukwudgies, and gremlins deserve their moment in the sun.
YouTube user Dark5 has put together a creepy showcase of five diminutive humanoids that have left their mark cultures throughout time and around the world.
Although one's first inclination may be to dismiss these tales as merely myths and legends, the very first character on the list stands out for the sheer reason that it may have actually been caught.
The Gnome of Girona, a gruesome four-and-a-half inch tall humanoid-looking creature, was allegedly captured by campers in Spain back in 1989.
The gnome's abductees claim that it lured them into the forest with eerie moans and the unnerving laughter of an old man.
Sadly, the tiny entity died shortly after being taken into impromptu custody, leaving only some odd pictures of its preserved body behind.
Other entities on the list include America's own tiny tormentor, the Pukwudgie, and a controversial 'being' that was filmed in Argentina back in 2008 and became a brief viral sensation for its gnome-like appearance.
Not all of the entries are of the elemental variety, however, as the list also showcases the Indonesia cryptid known as the Ebu Gogo, which has a description resembling a three foot tall bipedal ape.
And, finally, fans of the Twilight Zone will be interested in hearing about the true tales of gremlins that were said to harass pilots in the 1920's.
Check out the complete video for the full story on each of these small wonders and don't be embarrassed when you have to check under your bed before going to sleep tonight.
