An anomaly hunter studying NASA photos of Mars spotted a peculiar rock that bears an uncanny resemblance to a soldier wielding a shield. Indefatigable UFO researcher Scott Waring made the curious find while examining an image that the Curiosity rover captured last week. Amid the many sizeable and normal-looking rocks littering the surface of the Red Planet, he noticed the bewildering oddity which looks like a half-buried person holding a shield above their head.
While some believers in an ancient Martian civilization might interpret the anomaly as a statue honoring an revered soldier, Waring posited that the object could actually be the mummified remains of a human being. His argument for that theory is that it appears as if the perceived individual is holding their shield up to protect them from an incoming threat, which he suspects ultimately wound up freezing them in place somehow. Skeptical observers, of course, will say that the 'soldier' is simply a rock that resembles a person with a shield due to the phenomenon of pareidolia.
