Video: Authorities in Texas Uncover Seventh Cattle Mutilation Case

By Tim Binnall

Authorities in Texas have provided an update on their investigation into a series of mysterious cattle mutilations and revealed that an unsettling seventh case has been added to the list. The eerie series of slayings came to light last week when the Madison County Sheriff's Office told residents that while looking into a report of a cow that had been killed and had its tongue removed with surgical precision, they had uncovered five similar incidents that had recently occurred in the area. Their account of the unnerving series of mutilations subsequently sparked headlines around the world, though it would appear that the attention has not thwarted whatever is behind the killings.

Updating a local TV station on the situation, the sheriff's office revealed that a seventh mutilated cow had been found on Monday and, like the unfortunate animals that preceded it, it also had its tongue removed in similarly skilled manner. Strangely, they also indicated that a necropsy on one of the previously killed creatures found that it had actually died of pneumonia, which only deepens the mystery as it does not explain how it wound up losing its tongue in such an odd manner. While authorities continue their investigation, local ranchers are understandably concerned about the safety of their own cattle.

"It's just very questionable in my mind," livestock company owner Vernon Guidry said, noting the array of oddities surrounding the mutilations such as the lack of any blood at the crime scene nor any sign of struggle. "Doesn’t make sense," he mused, "it just leaves a big question like 'wow, what is really going on here?'" To that end, the incidents have led to renewed speculation that the phenomenon may be alien in nature, while cult activity has also been put forward as a possible source for the slayings.
