Video: Bigfoot Bandits Swipe Sasquatch Statue from Outside Ohio Restaurant

By Tim Binnall

Bigfoot bandits have struck again, swiping a sizeable Sasquatch statue from outside a restaurant in Ohio. According to a local media report, the seven-foot-tall sculpture of the famed cryptid had served as something of a mascot for Jimmy's Backyard BBQ in the community of Cuyahoga Falls. At some point around the start of September, the statue which has come to be known as 'Mr. Sasquatch' was stolen from the premises by a pair of individuals driving a Ford Explorer.

Taking off with the piece was apparently no small feat as restaurant owner Judy Blair explained that "he was bolted down with six-inch lag bolts! I mean, they know what they were doing." The brazen caper has left a sour taste in the mouths of many of the establishment's regular patrons as well as residents of the city, since the Bigfoot statue is a prominent fixture along the busy road where the restaurant is located. "I didn't even know if I could order food when I pulled in," one customer marveled, "you know, he's that important in the community."

Many in the city are hopeful that the publicity surrounding the incident will cause the thieves to bring the piece back to the restaurant. Should that appeal to their better angels fail, however, Blair has gone so far as to offer a no-questions-asked reward of $1,000 and a free sandwich for the safe return of the statue. The proverbial Bigfoot bounty may be particularly enticing to the crooks as she believes that they were probably college students who could probably use the money.
