A Canadian woman is warning about the dangers of phony online psychics after she fell under the spell of a 'mystic' who bilked her out of nearly $80,000. According to a local media report, the unfortunate saga began two years ago when the Toronto resident, identified as Nancy, was experiencing a particularly difficult period in her life with significant health issues and the loss of her father and brother in short succession. Both grieving and in "severe pain," she stumbled upon an online psychic who claimed he could turn her fortunes around with a 'simple' $20 session. Alas, when Nancy took the bait, the 'mystic' reeled her in using an all-too-familiar routine.
During the session, she recalled, "I was told I have very bad black magic working against me. This black magic means soon I’m also going to be paralyzed, and I will be in a wheelchair, and I will die too." Understandably terrified by what the psychic claimed were "evil spirits" attached to her, Nancy was convinced into paying around $18,000 for a ritual wherein the mystic would capture the entity in "a plastic container" that he would subsequently bury at a lake near her home. As one has likely surmised, the curious ceremony did not put an end to her suffering, which the psychic attributed to additional sinister forces working against her.
By the time Nancy realized she had been taken for a ride, she had paid around $80,000 to the phony psychic, who simply moved on to another victim once the proverbial well ran dry. Looking back on the experience, the devastated victim lamented that she ultimately lost her entire life savings to the scheme that has only exacerbated the stress and ailments which led her to seek help in the first place. "I’ve made a very big mistake," she mused, "I’ve been a very big fool." By coming forward with her story, Nancy hopes that others will steer clear of such underhanded individuals who promise 'magical solutions' to their problems.
