In a rare case of a creepy clown being caught by the cops, authorities in Brazil arrested a group of young men who had been behind a series of unsettling harlequin sightings that had left a community on edge. According to a local media report, the strange incident occurred on Sunday evening when several people in the town of Miranda spotted an unnerving individual roaming the streets while dressed in a clown costume. A video of the haunting harlequin (seen above) soon popped up online and caused something of a stir in the community as residents expressed considerable anger over the mysterious stranger and called upon the local police to put a stop to their antics.
While similar scenarios have unfolded in cities and towns around the world in recent years, more often than not, the creepy clowns have managed to escape justice. However, in this instance, police in Miranda were actually able to track down the young man who had been posing as the harlequin and arrested him as well as three of his friends, who had allegedly helped him with the spooky scheme. "It was a bad joke, as we already suspected, that they did to post on social media and Tik Tok," explained local official Daniel Francisco Mercado Dantas, "it was nothing more serious." Be that as it may, he noted that the stunt frightened many people in the community and, as such, all four individuals will face charges of incitement.
