In a chilling story out of Illinois, authorities have located a teenage murder suspect seen roaming around a neighborhood in a clown costume. According to a local media report, the unsettling incident came to light on Monday night when police in the city of East St. Louis were alerted to a body found in a road. What would likely have been an unfortunate but routine homicide case soon turned strange when cops on the scene began their investigation and, in speaking to neighbors, learned that someone dressed as a creepy clown had been wandering around the area in a worrisome fashion earlier in the evening.
Making the harlequin all the more haunting, a home security system in the neighborhood captured the costume-clad individual approaching a front door and declaring "I have a gift for you" to the camera. Fortunately, in that instance, their creepy visit went unanswered, much to the relief of the family of the woman who lives in that particular house. Meanwhile, others in the community who spotted the clown that night say he appeared to be wielding a large knife during his troubling travels. As one might imagine, given the proximity to the stranger's appearance in the neighborhood shortly before the yet-to-be-identified body was discovered, police are keen to question the individual who has understandably been named a suspect in the murder.
